Last updated: April 2026
This page explains how to permanently delete your Slate account and the data associated with it, or request deletion of your data without deleting your account. Slate is operated by Azimuth Labs, Inc.
1. Delete your account in the Slate app
The fastest way to delete your account is directly in the Slate app:
- Open the Slate app on your iOS or Android device.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete Account and follow the prompts.
- Confirm your identity with your passkey or biometric authentication.
- Withdraw any remaining balance before confirming deletion. Accounts with non-zero balances cannot be deleted.
Once confirmed, your account enters a 30-day closure window during which you can reverse the request by contacting support. After 30 days, deletion is permanent.
2. Delete your account by email
If you are unable to access the app, email hello@slatefi.com from the address registered to your account with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. Include:
- Your full legal name.
- The email or phone number associated with your account.
- Confirmation that you have withdrawn or want assistance withdrawing any remaining balance.
We verify every request to protect you from unauthorized deletions. Expect a reply within 3 business days and completion within 30 days of verification.
3. What gets deleted
When your deletion request is completed, the following is removed from our active databases:
- Your profile information (name, email, phone number).
- Your authentication credentials (passkeys, device links).
- Saved preferences and in-app settings.
- Marketing and communication preferences.
- Uploaded documents (e.g., ID images) after the regulatory retention period has ended.
4. What we retain, and for how long
To comply with financial regulation and anti-fraud obligations, we are required to retain certain records even after your account is deleted. These are kept in restricted archival systems, not used for any other purpose, and disposed of when the retention period ends.
- Transaction records and KYC verification data: retained for up to 7 years after account closure, as required by anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) regulations.
- Tax-related records: retained for the period required by the tax authority in your jurisdiction (typically 5–7 years).
- Fraud and risk signals: retained for up to 7 years to protect other users and prevent abuse.
- Anonymized or aggregated analytics: may be retained indefinitely because it cannot be used to identify you.
Once a retention period ends, the corresponding records are permanently deleted.
5. Request data deletion without closing your account
If you want to remove specific data from your account without deleting the account itself, email hello@slatefi.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”and describe the information you’d like deleted. Some data may be required to keep your account operational or to comply with regulation; we’ll let you know if any request can’t be fulfilled for those reasons.
6. Third-party processors
Slate works with licensed banking, custody, and KYC partners. When you delete your account, we instruct these partners to delete your personal data in line with their own legal obligations and retention schedules, which may differ from ours.
